Biography
George Adee, an outstanding amateur tennis player in the 1900s, as well as an All-American quarterback at Yale University, became Chairman of the U.S. Davis Cup Committee, the USNLTA Amateur Rules Committee, and other prominent American tennis activities. He was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum for those endeavors. Adee also served as President of the United States National Lawn Tennis Association (USNLTA) for four years (1916-1919). He played in the U.S. Championships six times (1903-1909) and served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War and World War I.
