Building Bridges Through Tennis

The International Tennis Hall of Fame will host the inaugural event, "Building Bridges through Tennis," and invites you to participate in a transformative multicultural learning experience. This event brings together two exceptional organizations, TeamFAME and the Israel Tennis and Education Centers (ITEC), united by their common vision – to mold the future of youth through the sport of tennis.

Mark your calendars for this celebratory gathering that begins with a community celebration and evolves into a series of exciting activities, including clinics, meet & greets, exhibition matches, and an adult tennis mixer. Come cheer the kids on, participate in the festivities, and witness the magic of tennis in bridging cultural divides and nurturing young talent. Join us in acknowledging the unifying power of sport and the transformative journey of these young lives through tennis.

About Israel Tennis & Education Centers (ITEC)

Our mission is to empower all children across Israel to dream, and by doing this, we are building bridges to create a more peaceful and stronger Israeli society.

For many of our children, ITEC is their safe haven. We meet them wherever there is a need and we help them overcome hardships. The struggles might be financial, as we are often reaching out to help underserved and underprivileged families. However, the need can also be personal, as many of our programs work to build confidence and inner strength.

Though tennis is at the core of what we offer, it is only the first step in a much broader program of personal growth, centered around emotional and social development. It is the way in. Tennis is the tool that empowers the children of ITEC to learn the life skills that will help them pursue their dreams. As a result, our children don’t even have to be good at tennis to gain the real value from our programs. We embrace children of all abilities and physical skills, including those with special needs.

As an organization, we are dedicated to the principles of equality, excellence, education and leadership development for each and every child in Israel. All religions and ethnicities are welcome. The wonderful thing about working with children is that they bring no preconceptions, prejudices or ideas. For them, we are all just people. Friendships can be made in unlikely places. We see this as building bridges and creating new pathways of communication where none existed previously. Where there is a bridge, comes a greater degree of understanding, and this is why our mission is so vital to the future peace and strength of Israel.

About TeamFAME

Through the TeamFAME Youth Development Program, the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) builds community through tennis by providing services at no cost to participants during out-of-school-time to promote academic success, character development, achievement through sport, and healthy lifestyles to the next generation.

TeamFAME is designed to meet the needs of students in our community and enhance the well-being of at-risk populations. Our core, year-round after-school and summer programs provides holistic support, education resources and enrichment activities wrapped around the sport of tennis to Newport area middle schoolers. The after-school program is carefully structured around time for physical activity, homework help and tutoring (specifically in math and reading), college and career preparation, as well as field trips, nutrition classes, STEM activities, research projects, and much more. Throughout an 8-week summer program, academics are encouraged in fun ways such as participating in the library summer reading program, research projects, and engaging math games. This has fostered the space needed to support summer learning loss and making positive learning choices. In addition, we deliver free beginner tennis clinics to elementary students as a pathway to TeamFAME and have established new leadership programs (mentorship, coach-in-training, college/career readiness) as we follow student-athletes through high school and beyond.

Since launching five years ago, TeamFAME has proven to change lives, prepare students for greater success in the classroom, foster aspirations to pursue tennis dreams, develop college and career aspirations, and take on leadership roles, ultimately strengthening our community at-large.

6:00pm COMMUNITY CELEBRATION & DINNER on the Horseshoe Piazza

Kick off the event at the Hall of Fame as we welcome the youth participants and ambassadors from Israel and celebrate with a multicultural dinner with friends, family and guests from around the world.

Tuesday, August 22

*TeamFAME & ITEC meet for breakfast and team building at Canfield House*

11:30am – 12:30pm GRASS COURT CLINIC (youth and adults)

12:30pm – 2:00pm MEET & GREET WITH PICNIC-STYLE LUNCH

plus DAVIS CUP STYLE TOURNAMENT - come cheer on the kids!

2:00pm EXHIBITION MATCH on Stadium Court
