MARIA SHARAPOVA AND BOB AND MIKE BRYAN RECEIVE OFFICIAL HALL OF FAME RINGS AT US OPEN
The newest Hall of Famers were presented with their rings inside Arthur Ashe Stadium, two days after being inducted into the Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
Two days after their memorable induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Maria Sharapova and Bob and Mike Bryan received their official Hall of Fame rings inside Arthur Ashe Stadium at the US Open on Monday evening.
Sharapova and the Bryans were presented their rings in front of a full night session by Hall of Fame President Kim Clijsters. Custom made by Baron®, the Official Ring Provider of the ITHF, these rings are presented separate from the induction at a special event or location around the world. The rings commemorate Hall of Famers’ place amongst the sport’s greatest champions and contributors.
The Hall of Famers were joined on court by US Open Tournament Director Stacey Allaster, Hall of Fame CEO Dan Faber and USTA President and Chairman of the Board Brian Vahaly.
Sharapova entered the court paying homage to her 2006 US Open singles title, unveiling a reimagined version of the Nike “Little Black Dress” she wore when she lifted the trophy. The iconic original dress is currently on display in the Hall of Fame’s museum, and is a style that has grown with her achievements over the years.
“New York City – what a special place and a special court. You have had an incredible impact on my journey here and I have had some of the most beautiful moments on this court,” said Sharapova. “You’ve witnessed me grow up from being a young girl wearing an Audrey Hepburn-inspired Nike dress to 19 years later, accepting this beautiful ring and incredible honor.”

The Bryan Brothers captured a record five men’s doubles titles together at Flushing Meadows, including their final major and 100th title as a team in 2014.
“We were inspired by watching our heroes play right here at the US Open. I remember coming through those gates for the first time; it felt like a dream,” said Bob Bryan. “Somehow this court became home to some of the biggest victories in our career. It’s an honor to be here again with you tonight, and thanks for the memories.”
