BE LEGENDARY MAKES LONDON STOP IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ALL ENGLAND LAWN TENNIS CLUB (AELTC)
After successful stops in Melbourne, Dallas, Indian Wells and Miami, the Be Legendary program traveled across the pond to London to engage a group of local youth tennis players in an action-packed three days of tennis fun!
In collaboration with The All England Lawn Tennis Club, kids from the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative (WJTI) spent time engaging in curated tennis lessons surrounding the rich history of the sport, with a special focus on incoming 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees Maria Sharapova and the Bryan Brothers. In addition to showcasing storied careers of these legends, lessons focused on teamwork and competitive spirit, two core tennis values that the incoming Hall of Fame Inductees built their legendary careers off.
From there, kids hit the courts at the Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre for an afternoon filled with on–court instruction, tips and advice from the legends themselves, putting into practice some of the lessons learned in previous days. Kids also had the opportunity to ask questions of the incoming Hall of Famers, take pictures and receive 1-1 coaching during the afternoon.
During finals weekend, kids then had the opportunity to experience the professional game up close and personal, attending The Championships at Wimbledon for a day filled with watching tennis and taking in the sights and sounds from around the grounds.
And as part of the Be Legendary program culmination, one lucky student (plus a parent chaperone) has been selected to earn a trip to Newport, RI to experience 2025 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. Ashley from WJTI will have the opportunity to experience all that Induction Weekend has to offer, from seeing Sharapova and the Bryan Brothers receive the ultimate honor in tennis to participating in tennis activities and Q&A’s with legends throughout the week.
