Group Tour Procedures

  • Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
  • Group leaders must check-in at front desk upon arrival to obtain general information and museum passes (stickers)– All groups must see a Visitor Service Associate prior to entering the Museum.
  • Food, liquids, flash photography and backpacks are not allowed in the Museum galleries. These items, if possible, should be left on the bus.
  • Camera tripods, strollers, large umbrellas, selfie sticks, oversized bags and Tennis racquets are also not permitted in the galleries.
  • Bus parking is available (but limited) on Jones St. adjacent to the CVS Pharmacy in Bellevue Gardens Shopping Plaza, directly across the street from the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
  • If canceling a tour, please provide notice at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled tour. Group tour deposits are non-refundable but can be credited toward a rescheduled visit.
  • A late arrival for a guided tour may result in a modified tour experience. If you have an emergency and anticipate being late, please call (401) 849-3990.
  • The guided tour will last 45-60 minutes (This can be adjusted to accommodate the group schedule for the day). Please allow time following the guided tour to enjoy the interactive exhibits throughout the Museum.
  • For groups over the age of 16 years: A 20% deposit is required at least 10 days prior to visiting the Museum. The remaining balance for your group is required day of visit, however you may also pay in full 10 days prior to make check-in process easier for both parties.
  • Please alert us to any needs your group has related to special education, English as a Second Language (ESL), or limited mobility. If we know in advance, we can help your visit go smoothly.
  • We require one chaperone to be present with each group of 20 children. Two adults per group of 20 children are preferred. No chaperones are required for tours of adults.
  • Group chaperones and teachers are admitted free of charge. No more than one chaperone per every 10 children will be admitted at no cost.
  • We suggest but do not require that you provide name tags for easy identification of your students.
  • If having lunch on site, upon arrival Admissions staff can collect all brown bag lunches and store them in our employee kitchen—right next to the USTA Wing (where the tour ends and lunch will be set up). We recommend labeling each child’s lunch.
  • For the safety of the students we ask that students not leave the Museum unless accompanied by an adult.
  • Please do not touch any of the objects in the Museum. These rules are in place to assure the safety of the objects and the general public. Please ensure that your group observes these limits, especially in maintaining safe distance from the exhibits. Museum staff has the right to ask an individual to leave the Museum if the person does not observe the Museum’s policies.
  • If for any reason the Museum is obligated to close, a member of the Museum staff will contact you.
  • If closing results in tour cancelation: Kelsey Dolan, Coordinator of Visitor Services, will provide the group leader with available dates in order to reschedule the group tour.
