Honored as the first journalist inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Danzig wrote prolifically on the sport in books and magazines. His daily newspaper accounts for the New York Times from 1927-67 were his more memorable work. He could capture the essence of a match as well as any writer, and he refused to let the participants in a match influence his own judgment. When a match was over, he made up his own mind about the primary reasons why a player won or lost a contest, and then wrote accordingly.
